My names Matt, and I’m a 25 small business owner and long time adversary of ‘the man’. This blog is about my journey to strike the right balance between being successful in my career and being able to enjoy what I’m doing on a daily basis. Being not tied down to a single city, or country; especially over the next 5 years is particularly important me. I have a lot of different interests, and my career background has some degree of variety. I have reached a point in my life where I felt it’s time to find out what I am really passionate about and try make that into a viable career. While also maintaining a degree of autonomy from what we traditionally consider a standard working environment. I will be playing with all sorts of ideas in order find the right path for me. Here is where I will document my journey.
I’ve never been a good liar though, and as a result I don’t want to start this relationship with a lie. So please be aware, not everything on this blog will be informative, insightful or even relevant. If you are looking for a single minded self help blog then I suggest perhaps looking elsewhere.
My business partner and best mate Dave Leinen is also on a similar journey to find success through location independent work. In some cases our approaches to problems are inherently different, and because of this we often come to some conclusions and ideas that neither one could have got to by ourselves. Sometimes with hilarious consequences…
From new business concepts to digital art, from crowd funding to architecture, from SEO to gaming. I will use this blog to share my thoughts/ideas/opinions on these and many more while hopefully giving you a few laughs. I hope to grow as I learn. Equally from my successes as I do my failures, all while seeking to find that balance, happiness and fulfilment. Location independence here I come!
This blog (and journey) would not have happened without the amazing support of my girlfriend Hanna who always pushes me to follow my dreams. Check out some her baller design work here…
